Vehicles & plant

Buyers bid with VIN, mileage and MOT in hand.

A buyer who can't walk the lot still has to trust it — so Bidstrap won't publish a vehicle until those three figures are on the page. Your remote buyers bid on what's disclosed, and fewer disputes land on you when the hammer falls.

The pain

Sell through a remarketing marketplace and the dealer registers with them, not you — your house ends up a vendor line on someone else's domain, under someone else's login. And a vehicle listed without its VIN, mileage or MOT is a dispute waiting to happen the moment a buyer bids on what they can't inspect.

Disclosure, enforced

No vehicle goes live until its VIN, mileage and MOT are on the lot.

All three are required before a lot can be promoted — the gate belongs to the platform, not to a clerk's memory or a box someone meant to tick. VAT margin-scheme status is a required field when a buyer registers, so the tax position is settled before a paddle goes up. The white-label tools stay silent on what a vehicle must disclose; the big marketplaces sell that disclosure back to you as paid 'assurance'. Here it is free and enforced at source.

Live

  • VIN, mileage, MOT — enforced

A vehicle stays in draft until all three are on the lot. The gate decides when it can go live, not a clerk hoping no one notices the blank.

  • VAT margin status, captured

Margin-scheme or VAT-qualifying status is a required field at registration — so the tax position is clear before the hammer falls, not argued over once it has.

  • Live

    Plant spec, your own fields

Add serial, year, hours and condition as typed fields you author yourself — no code release, no vendor ticket — so a groundcare lot and a workshop lot each read the way your trade expects.

Roadmap On the roadmap, not live today: automatic HPI and DVLA lookups, V5C capture and write-off category (Cat A/B/S/N); a templated bidder and registrant import; direct Xero, QuickBooks and CRM connectors; and the populated bidder network. We market what ships — the publish gate, your branded storefront and the transparent pricing are live now.

Why Bidstrap

Everything else your house needs — in your trade's language.

  • Live

A price you can see — never charged to your buyer

Your all-in cost is on the page, not behind a sales call. The more you sell, the less we take — a share of the hammer that falls from 1.0% to 0.5%, never a penny of your buyer's premium — while the one priced rival in this trade bills the buyer a fixed sum every sale.

  • Live

Your name on the sale, not the marketplace's

Every vehicle becomes a page on your own branded storefront, tagged with schema.org data and built to be found by Google and AI assistants — not a row on a remarketing marketplace that builds its domain, not yours, and keeps your bidder's login.

  • Roadmap

    A real bid, not a scroll-past

Bidstrap is built to count genuine interest — a watch, a bid — never a card that scrolled past. Reach you can stand behind, not a vanity 'views' number.

How the network works

The trade buyers a vehicle network will bring

A motor dealer registers with the marketplace, not with you — this is the trade that has lost the bidder relationship most completely. Bidstrap is built around a shared verified-bidder network: as more houses come in, trust is built to carry between them, so the buyers you can reach grow with the network. The pool is still filling. Come in early and you seed it first, then harvest it as it grows — your own contact list never moves, and there is no cross-house bidder directory.

Built to carry trust between member houses as the network grows — never your contact list. The network is still filling; no buyer pool is live yet.

Pricing

See the cost before you sign — and we never tax your bidders

Every other platform in this trade makes you ask for a price, and the one that publishes one bills your buyer a fixed fee on every sale. Drag the slider for your exact all-in cost — no email, no call. You pay the greater of a £99 monthly base or a take-rate that falls from 1.0% to 0.5% of the hammer as you sell more, never both. (The take-rate also carries a per-lot cap, so a high-value vehicle is never charged a disproportionate fee.) Contractually, never a fee on your trade buyers. Stripe fees pass through at cost; Bidstrap keeps none of it.

FAQ

Straight answers.

You pay the greater of a £99 monthly base or a take-rate on the hammer that falls from 1.0% to 0.5% as you sell more — never both, and never a penny of your buyer's premium. We will never charge your trade buyers a fee to bid: that is a clause in the contract, not a setting. Drag the calculator slider to see your exact all-in cost before you sign — no email, no sales call.

No — and we won't pretend there is. The publish gate, your branded storefront and the transparent pricing all work today. The shared verified-bidder network is still filling: come in early and you help seed the pool, then harvest the trade buyers it is built to carry as more houses join. Your own contact list comes with you and stays yours — there is no cross-house bidder directory.

Your name. The storefront is your own branded site, on your subdomain or a custom domain — your lots, your saleroom, not a vendor line on someone else's marketplace. The one place a buyer meets a second brand is sign-in and identity, which runs on Bidpass, the bidder-trust layer, so a buyer can sign in once and bid with confidence. It's your house's storefront with a shared trust mark at the door — not a pure white-label that hides who runs the sale.

Yes — import your lots and assets by CSV today, including exports from the marketplaces and software you already list on, such as EasyLive, BidSpotter or Invaluable. A templated import for your bidder and registrant list is on the roadmap; for now your contact list stays entirely yours and moves with you, because there is no cross-house bidder directory to surrender it to.

Not today, and we won't imply otherwise. What the gate enforces now is disclosure: a vehicle can't go live until its VIN, current mileage and MOT expiry are on the lot, and VAT margin status is captured at registration. Automatic HPI and DVLA lookups, V5C capture and write-off category (Cat A/B/S/N) are on the roadmap — the figures shown today are the ones you enter, enforced to be present before a buyer can bid.
